HERE FOR HEROES, HERE FOR YOU: YESWAY JOINS WITH NACS TO CELEBRATE 24/7 DAY AT ALL YESWAY AND ALLSUP’S STORES

Sixth annual event celebrates first responders while raising funds for disaster relief

(Fort Worth, Texas – July 17, 2024) – Yesway, one of the country’s fastest growing convenience store chains, with stores located in Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Nebraska, is celebrating hometown heroes and joining tens of thousands of convenience retailers and suppliers across the United States to celebrate 24/7 Day.

Held annually on July 24, 24/7 Day was created to highlight the partnership between first responders and convenience stores. Hosted by the NACS Foundation, the event also helps raise awareness and donations for the Red Cross and spotlights the convenience and fuel retailing industry’s important role in supporting emergencies, disaster relief and crisis situations, 24/7/365.

Yesway is supporting this year’s 24/7 Day at its Yesway and Allsup’s store locations by offering a free Core Hydration water (30.4 ounce) on July 24*, as well as, from July 21 through 24, a free fountain drink of any size, to firefighters, doctors, nurses, health practitioners, Red Cross professionals, and 911 professionals in uniform or with a valid badge – to thank them for all they do.

“At Yesway, we believe that supporting the communities we serve is essential,” said Tom Trkla, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yesway.  “We are proud to join with the NACS Foundation and our colleagues in the convenience store industry to celebrate 24/7 Day. We are grateful for the first responders who take care of those who live and work in the communities we serve.  We aim to acknowledge and support them, and the excellent work they perform each and every day, but especially on 24/7 Day. On behalf of everyone at Yesway and Allsup’s, our thanks to our hometown heroes again in 2024.”

Convenience stores are community stores: 93% of Americans live within 10 minutes of a convenience store. There are 152,000-plus convenience stores in the United States, and cumulatively, the industry serves approximately 160 million customers per day, sells 80% of the fuel purchased in the country, and donates more than $1 billion a year to charitable causes.

People are impacted by emergencies every day, including the communities that Yesway and Allsup’s serve:

• On average, the Red Cross responds to an emergency every eight minutes. From small house fires to multi-state national disasters, the American Red Cross goes where it’s needed so people can have clean water, safe shelter and hot meals when they need them most.
• The Red Cross responds to an average of 65,000 disasters every year and 95% of its disaster relief workers are volunteers.

“We hope you will join us in supporting the heroes who are always here for us, helping others and giving so much of themselves in times of incredible need,” said Nathan Measom, Director of Cause Marketing for the American Red Cross. “Our continued partnership with the NACS Foundation is one of the most important ways we highlight the work done each year in communities across the United States, which is not often seen by the public. It’s our honor to shine a light on these heroes and thank them for their incredible effort.”

“The 24/7 Day celebration was born from the realization of the deep connection between first responders and the convenience store community,” said Stephanie Sikorski, Executive Director of the NACS Foundation. “We’ve heard too often that ‘nothing good happens after zero-dark-thirty,’ but our research shows that these small hours are when first responders and convenience stores unite across a range of efforts, from setting up for a disaster relief effort or simply getting a cup of coffee or healthy snack during a shift to keep energy high. We are proud to support these efforts, which keep our communities strong.”

*Offer valid on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 only.

the South Fork Fire and Salt Wildfire in New Mexico

Customers and supplier partners are invited to join and donate

at all Yesway and Allsup’s store locations

(Fort Worth, Texas – June 27, 2024) – Yesway, one of the country’s fastest growing convenience store chains, today announced it will provide support through a donation of $100,000 to the New Mexico areas in and around Ruidoso that have been so tragically impacted as the result of catastrophic wildfires that struck these towns over the last week bringing loss of life, home, and community to many.

To help the company achieve its goal of raising $200,000 in total for those affected, Yesway and Allsup’s customers, fans, friends, and supplier partners will be able to join these efforts and donate as well.

Through July 31, 2023, Yesway and Allsup’s customers are invited to make $1.00, $5.00, $10.00 (or larger) donations at checkout to benefit the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico.

“We are humbled by the support from Yesway and Allsup’s,” said President and CEO Terra V. Winter of the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico. “Yesway and Allsup’s are a long-standing partner in the areas that have been affected by the Salt and South Fork fires. We are grateful for their incredible donation during this time and their extended support to invite their customers across their stores to join us in caring for our Lincoln and Otero County communities. Funding will aid residents affected by the fires while focusing on emerging and long-term economic revitalization. We are stronger together and are truly grateful for their giving hearts.”

As reported by the Las Cruces Sun News, the South Fork Fire, which started on June 17 inside the Lincoln National Forest and on Mescalero Apache Tribal lands, and the Salt Fire, burned in southern New Mexico and had consumed nearly 23,000 acres by June 18. Mandatory evacuation of residents and tourists from the communities of Ruidoso, Mescalero and Ruidoso Downs, which are located between the fires and in proximity to where five local Allsup’s stores serve as community hubs, were instituted as the fire raged on. The truly devastating effects of the wildfires are still to be tallied.

“All of us at Yesway feel compelled to support our friends and neighbors who live and work in the Ruidoso area,” said Tom Trkla, Yesway’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We are donating $100,000 to benefit the families and community members who have been affected by these disastrous wildfires and are hoping our customers can help us raise an additional $100,000. We ask our Yesway and Allsup’s customers across the nine states in which we operate to join us by making donations at our stores. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yesway Celebrates the 50^th Anniversary of its

World Famous Allsup’s Burrito – “The Legendary OG”

A full year of festivities in honor of its legendary tasty treat kicks off in September

Fort Worth, Texas – September 12, 2023 – Yesway, one of the fastest-growing convenience store operators in the United States, is kicking off a yearlong celebration of the World Famous Allsup’s Burrito in honor of the delectable, deep-fried delight’s 50^th Anniversary. Fans around the world are invited to join Yesway in paying tribute to the legendary OG burrito that has been satisfying taste buds for five decades.

The legend of the Allsup’s burrito started in New Mexico with an appetizing accident when baked burritos made their way into a doughnut fryer in 1974. When Mr. Lonnie Allsup, the chain’s founder, saw that customers could not get enough of the deep-fried, golden, tortilla-wrapped burritos, a classic was born that lives on to this day. Allsup’s was the first convenience store to deep fry a burrito, and it is no exaggeration to say that people love them. Fifty years later, Allsup’s World Famous Burrito is available at all 441 Yesway and Allsup’s stores in nine states: Texas, New Mexico, South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Wyoming, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. The company sells 27 million burritos each year.

Each and every Allsup’s Beef and Bean Burrito is handmade with slow-cooked beans, beef, cheese, and a special blend of spices, and then wrapped with care. Purists enjoy them, along with Allsup’s Hatch Green Chile and Cheese Burrito and the Allsup’s “Chimi” Chimichanga, topped with Allsup’s Taco Sauce —others prefer ranch dressing, even mustard.

The Allsup’s burrito hasn’t just moved loyal fans to stop in again and again for their favorite savory snack—it’s also inspired at least one love song, by singer-songwriter Aaron LaCombe, “Ode to the Allsup’s Burrito”, and hundreds of thousands of social media posts. Fans celebrate their graduations and proms with photo shoots including Allsup’s World Famous Burritos at their local stores; others have dressed as Allsup’s Burritos for Halloween. Some fans have made the commitment to permanently enshrine their devotion with Allsup’s Burrito tattoos. The deep-fried deliciousness has even made it onto the menu at numerous weddings.

Yesway, the parent company of Allsup’s is proud of the top-quality service each of its team members offers to customers. “It is a foundational principle for our company that Yesway and Allsup’s convenience stores should be more than just a place to grab a quick snack—they should be a vital part of the communities we serve,” said Tom Trkla, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Yesway. “While Allsup’s World Famous Burritos may be one reason our guests keep coming back, it is the dedicated, friendly team members who greet and serve our guests each day, a number of whom have been part of our team for 25, 35, 40 years and even longer, who are the primary reasons. It is their efforts, and the care they put not only into each Allsup’s Burrito, but into taking care of our customers and communities of which we are most proud.”

To kick off the celebrations of this milestone year, all of the company’s stores are currently featuring a special offer for Yesway and Allsup’s Rewards members, get a Tallsup fountain drink for 50¢ when purchasing two Beef and Bean Burritos. More promotions and events will be announced throughout the coming year.
